Thomas Hartley’s fashion story started with a love of fine art and classical sculpture, in particular the drapery from the Master Leonardo Da Vinci.
His passion for anatomical study fuelled his desire to enhance the shape of the female form.

Born in 1984 in Scarborough, North Yorkshire Hartley honed his talent for womenswear fashion design at Central St Martins London. He accepted a place in 2004, graduating in 2008.

In 2006 Hartley furthered his passion for study in Paris where he worked with John Galliano for the House of Christian Dior. It was whilst working on the Dior Haute Couture dresses that Hartley had a pivotal moment, deciding he wanted to make dresses women would fall in love with.

In 2007 Hartley accepted work with another of his fashion icons, Dame Vivienne Westwood. Under her tutelage he developed his technical skill and appreciation of pattern cutting. Westwood instilled Thomas with the confidence to adhere to his originality of style and to take up the challenge to turn fabric into a work of art.
